Shollmier's Modern Kitchen Takes the Cake

One of the best and most rewarding parts about designing is incorporating the personality and tastes of the clients into the living space design. That’s exactly what Roger Shollmier from Kitchen Designs located in Tulsa, Oklahoma gets to do. Nothing is funner than working with a creative client who’s got ideas popping out of her pores. Take our hand as we take you through some of this modern kitchen design by Roger. Designed for a client who owns her own cake and cookie business, this kitchen really does take the cake. “Eight shades of amazing” is what some would call it. With a colorful, fun and whimsical feel, this kitchen was fit for a baker.

The bright colors and contrasting textures play off of each other to create a creative environment for her cake and cookie business.

The counters are cast concrete. The tile backsplashes were created by the home owner.

This area of the kitchen is used for her cake and cookie business.

Tall pantry storage by oven and microwave pulls open for easy access.

Four stainless steel tambour cabinets slide open for easy access to her baking essentials.

These sinks were a part of the original kitchen. Now they are often filled with ice to chill beverages for entertaining!

What is it? Or where to find it:
Floor: Rough slate floors
Island Sink: Blanco’s 33″ Silgranit
Cabinetry: KraftMaid’s new Venicia line, in “Kaffe”
Refrigerator: Frigidaire
