Interior Design Travel Spotlight: Venetian Decor

Venice, situated in Northeast Italy, is composed of a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges.  New York Times described Venice as “undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man”, and the Times described it as being one of the most romantic cities in Europe.

The regal Aman Canal Grande Resort is very representative of the Venetian culture and feel of this historical city. The actual resort is situated in a 16th century palazzo (how awesome is that) commissioned by the Coccina family of Bergamo. Join us for a small tour filled with romantic architecture, relaxing gondola rides, and stately accommodations.

Another common feature of Venetian interior design is  Celestial themes, like this magnificently carved ceiling depicting angels and clouds.

Venetian decor is not complete without the use of gold, silver, or metallics. Most of the time this includes gilded chandeliers and gold leaf crown molding.
